We just love the SOUTH AFRICAN influence in the style of these pictures, (though the pictures arent south african) the converse allstar sneakers and the jack parcell sneaker are all part of the south african 90's style, we still rock them till this day! thats what JoDuCa's about! what you guys say? Cool, not cool, okay or interesting?  there's only one comment for this though!

SOUTH AFRICAN STREET FASHION, FROM THE STREETS OF DURBAN,JOZI AND CAPETOWN AT THIS YEARS DESIGN INDABA!

These are some of the pictures, and trends that caught the eye of local South Africans and Fashionistas at the DESIGN INDABA, held earlier this year on the 23rd of february to the 27th february, in this picture we see a young black South African wearing the original white fitted t-shirt, dark fitted jeans and white sneakers look, the look might have been over done during the years but the guy in this picture shows us how relevant it still is if dressed in the appropriate way and place. The reason why JoDuCa and people loved this picture at the DESIGN INDABA is because of its simplicity and relevantness to any situation, to be honest its not a South African look but we like it because its MODERN,its CURRANT and is the preferred look to South African guys in there early twenties!

This is typical South African township look, (clearly different from the look above) which in lots of ways, cases and places hasn't gotten enough credit it deserves! This due to mostly the steroetypical views that of the pop culture/fashion scene in this country we have adapted. This look is basically about dark leather or suede loafers, fitted jeans, golfer shirts, leather belts, and sometimes finished of with a small bucket hat or  a beanie depending on the season! So what do we  think abuot  it? Well as far as slick but leaving room for a casual item is concerned, this look has got just that, its neat, clean, with a hint of rebel inside it! This gives away what you might what people to perceive you as, now as we all know most township guys are seen exactly in this way, WAS IS IT BECAUSE OF THE CLOTHES ALL ALONG? or they really are guys not to be messed with! (",)

The interlectual, hippy look, only white boys can pull this off look of properly, in the same way just like only the darkies can pull of the previous "township G" look if you like! Two different and very unique looks, Now we JoDuCa are all about fusion things up! thats what we stand for! so what do you get when you mix the two?

                                                           SOMETHING LIKE THIS!

WINTER KNITWEAR, THIS MIGHT COME IN HANDY - "TRADITIONALLY INFLUENCED XHOSA KNITWEAR"

Whats up? JoDuCa's! this picture is a picture of five xhosa men, wearing typically traditional meets modern Xhosa knitwear clothes, this is a collection by local designer who goes by the name of Laduma Ngxokolo, and he calls it "Xhosa influenced knitwear".

Laduma Ngxokolo's range of knitwear was influenced by the Xhosa's traditional rite of passage from boyhood to manhood. So what does this mean this range separates the men from the boys? You decide, we love it! we think its zesty, current and a look to watch out for the cold season!

The reason we JoDuCa posted these pictures up, is because we appreciate and follow such a beautiful blend of local patterns used in such a modern way, actually we say most guys should rock knits like these, WATCH OUT FOR THE  JoDuCa  RANGE COMING OUT SOON TO YOUR WARDROBES! expect something worth while",

LIVE LIFE! JoDuCA!

031 COLLECTION DURBAN

Durban hasn't been taken seriously for a long time in the South  Africa's fashion scene, untill recently in the DURBAN 031 COLLECTION initiative which was sponsered by Durban's fashion giant Mr Price.

The show filled with local talent and involved 16 designers, which were split in to two Top estabilished Durban designers and local up and  coming young designers. Among the estabilished designers were Nguni Shades, Leigh Schubert, Sbu Msimang. Amanda Laird Cherry, Francois Vedemme, The Holmes Brothers, Ruff Tung and Terrence Bray. The young designers were Claire Mackenzie, Jacqueline Munsami, Gregory Sandile Dladla ( JoDuCa's  favourite), Ludwig Bezuidenhout, Hanrie Lues, Cindy Leigh Armstrong, Kaila Goss and Belinda Morgan.

The young designers were in a competition to win prize money, and to work for Mr Price HQ with a chance of  having there designs out on some of the Mr Price stores, so who won? Unfotunately not our favourite but to us every winner is JoDuCa, CINDY LEIGH ARMSTRONG won on the night and we congratulate her, her collection had women's and men'swear which was different and interesting from the rest!

Well now then, what do we think about the whole event?  the setup: the setup was really world class black and neat, simple good work from David West (the show choreographer) and Black Coffee Productions (not the disc jockey",) the clothes were even better than setup the  veteran designers showing that they have  been in the game for a  while", though the young designers keep them on their toes, literally on the runway! So thanks to Tiffany Prior the event organiser and producer of the whole show, DURBAN HAS SENT A MESSAGE TO SOUTH AFRICA, AND WE THINK THIS TIME SOUTH AFRICA HAS  GOT IT!
