SOUTH AFRICAN ILLUSTRATION

We thought we should share some of the things which influence us.This is artwork from a local Durban graphic designer, Wesley Van Eeden, showcasing local South African transport amatekisi and istimela, township RDP houses known better as "o four room" as he sees them. Check them out.

African art and patterns!

Have a look at the above African influenced artwork, we just thought we should share what kind of elements influence us as JoDuCa one of them are African artwork and patterns. This particular one is Sepedi influenced. Sepedi is one of the eleven official languages of this country as all of us hopefully know. Amazing how colours carefully put together can give off such a beautiful artwork.

Pictures of material which first influenced us, at the beginning of JoDuCa its one of the reasons we want to do what we do, mixing traditional and the present. We might bring Dashikis Back! (laughing)

WINTER KNITWEAR, THIS MIGHT COME IN HANDY - "TRADITIONALLY INFLUENCED XHOSA KNITWEAR"

Whats up? JoDuCa's! this picture is a picture of five xhosa men, wearing typically traditional meets modern Xhosa knitwear clothes, this is a collection by local designer who goes by the name of Laduma Ngxokolo, and he calls it "Xhosa influenced knitwear".

Laduma Ngxokolo's range of knitwear was influenced by the Xhosa's traditional rite of passage from boyhood to manhood. So what does this mean this range separates the men from the boys? You decide, we love it! we think its zesty, current and a look to watch out for the cold season!

The reason we JoDuCa posted these pictures up, is because we appreciate and follow such a beautiful blend of local patterns used in such a modern way, actually we say most guys should rock knits like these, WATCH OUT FOR THE  JoDuCa  RANGE COMING OUT SOON TO YOUR WARDROBES! expect something worth while",
